A head-to-head against the AirPods Pro 2, AirPods Pro 3, Focal Bathys, Focal Bathys MG, Bowers & Wilkins PX7 S3 and PX8 S2, Sony WH-1000XM5 and XM6, Bose QC Ultra, Sennheiser HD 630, Sennheiser HD 650, Mark Levinson 5909, and Samsung Galaxy Buds4 Pro exposes a flagship that isn't the best at anything — just okay at everything. After seven replacement pairs and a deep dive into wired lossless placebo, ANC pressure sensation, the uselessness of high-resolution bitrate on wireless hardware, and Apple's inexplicable engineering compromises, the conclusion becomes obvious: over-ear Bluetooth headphones in 2026 are tower PCs, and the AirPods Pro 3 have quietly rendered them obsolete at less than half the price. The AirPods Max 2 aren't a headphone purchase — they're an AirPods purchase, and that's the only reason left to buy them.

0:00 Six years of neglect
1:30 New chip, same me
2:36 Sound ain't that different, tbh
4:51 ANC has improved a ton
6:37 All the old problems remain
9:22 AirPods Max are not headphones—they're status
9:49 "Wired Lossless" is mostly BS
11:22 You can't argue with science
12:42 The AirPods Max aren't even that expensive lmao
13:54 Focal Bathys win the sound battle but nothing else
14:56 Bowers & Wilkins PX7 S3 are wonderful
15:44 Bose QC Ultra are dog poop
15:56 Sennheiser HD 630 sound as good as they hurt to wear
16:19 XM5 and XM6 are beloved with reason
16:46 AirPods Max are in fact AirPods
17:35 But TWS buds are just insanely good now
19:06 If I had $550, I'd buy THIS

Five years after the original, Apple's AirPods Max 2 arrive with the new H2 chip, Bluetooth 5.3, wired lossless over USB-C, and dramatically improved active noise cancellation — but they still carry the same drivers, aluminum chassis, 20-hour battery life, condensate-prone cups, missing power button, and infamous garbage case as the 2020 model.

17:35 But TWS buds are just insanely good now
19:06 If I had $550, I'd buy THIS</itunes:summary>

The AI industry is ruining the PC industry. An unsuspecting Apple may end up as winner.
*Save 10% on your Cloth Pro Max* - https://copland.supply/discount/SNAZZY

Follow Snazzy Labs on Twitter - https://twitter.com/snazzylabs
Follow me on Bluesky - https://snazzy.fm/UW
Follow me on Threads - https://snazzy.fm/XV
Follow me on Mastodon - https://snazzy.fm/NN
Follow me on Instagram - https://instagram.com/snazzyq

The DRAM memory crisis driven by AI and HBM demand from NVIDIA, Samsung, SK Hynix, and Micron has caused DDR5 RAM prices to surge over 175%, forcing Dell, Lenovo, HP, and Framework to raise PC prices by 15–50% while Apple's Mac lineup—including the $399 M4 Mac mini and $1,600 M4 Pro MacBook Pro—remains unchanged thanks to Tim Cook's long-term supply contracts and vertically integrated Apple Silicon with on-die LPDDR memory. Apple's $200-per-tier RAM upgrades, long considered a ripoff, are now cheaper than buying equivalent DDR5 DIMMs on the open market, making the Mac mini, MacBook Pro, and MacBook Air the best value computers in 2026 despite Apple's still-extortionate SSD and NAND storage pricing. Upcoming M5 Pro and M5 Max MacBook Pros are expected in early 2026 alongside a rumored $600 A18 Pro-powered MacBook, while a full M6 MacBook Pro redesign with tandem OLED, touchscreen, and Dynamic Island could arrive in Q4 2026 at a $300–$500 premium. The memory shortage is forecast to persist through 2028 as data centers consume over 70% of top-tier memory production, meaning Mac's pricing advantage over Windows PCs and Chromebooks may be the new normal.

0:00 Macs are objectively the best deal in computing
0:57 DRAM is a BSCAM
2:50 PC prices are going up… even more.
3:48 Apple’s old ripoff pricing is now a deal?
5:37 Apple is NOT a normal company
7:37 Apple’s still screwing you though…
9:19 Apple’s base configs are no longer trash
13:53 Obfuscating price hikes with FEATURES!
17:15 Price hikes are sadly already overdue
17:47 A new “budget” MacBook will be a paradigm shift
21:13 STOP TALKING ABOUT EDUCATION!
22:50 Macs are *not* overpriced.
